Abdiel did some great research at home about teeth. He made a poster about interesting facts about teeth and shared it with us at Thursday news time "Something I've Made Or Written".
Did you know that a snail can have up to 25,000 teeth in its mouth? I didn't even know snails had teeth!

We have been lucky enough to have Miss Lucia, a student teacher from Shanghai University, join us for the last few days. We have all enjoyed having her help us with our classroom programmes.
Today, Miss Lucia introduced us to the art of origami. She taught us how to make very cute little McDonalds packets with pretend fries in them.
Here are some photos....

Room 8 had a real treat today.
Abdiel's Mum came in and told us all about Eid, the celebration at the end of Ramadan.
She brought in some very delicious morning tea for us. We really enjoyed learning about Eid and loved sampling the delicious  food that she had made for us.
Thank you to Abdiel and his Mum

This week we are learning about multiplication and equal sharing in Maths. We have had fun working out all sorts of problems like this one.
There is a family of 2 legged caterpillars. All of the caterpillars only have 2 legs. How many legs would there be altogether if there were 2 caterpillars in the family?...What about 3 caterpillars?...What about 4 caterpillars?
Here we are doing some independent activities out of the green Maths box:

Thursday's oral language focus is "Something I Have Made Or Written".
Jacob told us all about this fantastic model of the Sky Tower that he made. Wow! It's great and looks just like the real one!

We made pizzas today because our letter of the week is 'p'. We are also talking about fractions in our Maths learning. We cut the pizzas into 1/2s, then 1/4s, then 1/8ths. We loved making them and we especially loved eating them, yum!
